Bojnice has a small center, and the attractions are concentrated in a fairly small area.
On foot, or by bike, it is the best way to discover the beauties of the city and move to Bojnice. Alternatively, to reach the suburbs, or the nearby Prievidza, there are public transportation.
ON FOOT
The main attractions, as mentioned, are in a small space. If your holiday is limited to a simple trip out of town, it is preferable to move to Bojnice on foot.
Those arriving by car will find several parking areas to leave their cars.
GETTING AROUND BOJNICE BY TAXI
Thanks to the really low rates, getting around Bojnice by taxi could be the best solution. You will have ample freedom of movement, and an active 24 hour service on 24, with a rather modern fleet. All the info on the official website, from this link.
BIKE
By bike you can easily move between Prievidza and Bojnice, just a little less than 4 kilometers. The two wheels are especially indicated to cover medium-range distances.
GETTING AROUND BOJNICE BY BUS
Bojnice shares public transport with the nearby Prievidza. A single network, active during the day, consisting of 16 bus lines with which to move to Bojnice and Prievidza.
Thanks to recent upgrading, many buses can be used by people with reduced mobility. This was possible with the introduction of low-floor vehicles.
Obviously, only a part of these circulate in Bojnice. In this case, please check beforehand.
The buses are quite comfortable and modern. As the city center is rather small, we recommend using it only for medium / long haul journeys or to move around Bojnice and Prievidza.
Remember that on the bus you always get on the driver’s side and get off the other doors.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT TICKETS
To use the buses and getting around Bojnice and Prievidza, we recommend buying the so-called dopravnej karty. This is a special contactless transport card to travel at a discounted price. It is only purchased at the SAD information office of the Prievidza station. It costs 3.50€.
For each use, the cost of the trip will be deducted.
The card must be validated FOR EVERY JOURNEY. Anyone without a ticket, or has not validated the ticket, will be subject to a penalty of 30.55€.
The ticket for a race of 30 minutes, with the transport card, costs 0.15€.
Un ordinary trip, costs 0.50€ per adult, and 0.30€ reduced from 6 to 15 years.
Alternatively, you can buy tickets for an ordinary trip, directly from the driver at the cost of €0.55 per adult and €0.35 reduced.
For luggage, dogs and animals, you need to buy another ticket for each unit.
Children under the age of 6, disabled on wheelchairs, travel free on all buses.
