The center of Noto is quite small and can only be explored on foot.
Typically you walk for a couple of kilometers to visit the main monuments of the historic center.
For moving around Noto on foot you go through uphill stretches and long stairways.
GETTING AROUND NOTO BY BUS
The transport is managed by several local companies. AST (Azienda Siciliana Trasporti SPA) is one of the best known in the area and guarantees extra-urban connections with the main neighboring destinations, from/to Noto.
The comfortable Caruso Line Shuttle Bus connects Noto and Eloro Pizzuta every day, from morning until late evening, and vice versa. The two terminus are in Largo Pantheon (in Noto) and Hotel Eloro. The intermediate stops are Piazza Stellamaris (Castelbernardo) and Piazza Sallicano (Lido di Noto).
Tickets can be purchased directly on board the bus and costs €2.50 per person.
CARS AND PARKING
Getting around Noto by car is absolutely impossible. The historic center, in fact, is almost exclusively a pedestrian area.
If you travel by car, you can opt for numerous car parks in the area. Rates on average are around €2 per hour.
Those wishing to enter from the side of the Porta Reale will find a large parking area near the Municipal Villa.
