Here, are some valuable information to drive in Estonia.
As always, we recommend following some basic and universal rules: always respect the speed limits. In Estonia it is forbidden to drive after drinking alcohol, even in minimal quantities. Zero tolerance throughout the country. The checks are quite frequent.
In case of infringement, we can pay the fine on the spot. Don’t forget the receipt, of course.

BASIC RULES TO DRIVE IN ESTONIA
In the country, drive to the right and pass over to the left. Remember to always respect the safety distance.
It is always necessary to dare the pedestrians who cross or are about to cross a road; even if there are no pedestrian crossings on the ground.
In the event of an accident, you MUST ALWAYS STOP and provide assistance where necessary. In case of problems with the authority, you should contact your reference consulate immediately.
DOCUMENTS TO DRIVE IN ESTONIA
License, registration card and valid insurance certificate. DELEGATION TO CONDUCT. It is a delegation of the vehicle owner with a certified signature. It is not mandatory.
To drive mopeds up to 50, you must be at least 15 years old; for higher engines, a minimum of 17 years is required.
VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
Seat belts must be compulsorily fastened on all seats, front and rear (if present).
On two wheels, the helmet is ALWAYS mandatory for driver and passenger.

ROADS AND SIGNS
All Estonian roads and highways are identified by the letter T, followed by a maximum of three digits.
In general, national routes are classified according to European importance and quality standards (AADT).
The main routes are called põhimaanteed, and extend for about 1600km. They connect the capital, large cities, border crossings or ports. In total there are 12 main routes, from T1 to T12.
Like the other Baltic countries, the motorway is also FREE in Estonia and there is no toll payment.
SPEED LIMITS
The speed can change depending on the weather conditions and, also based on the time of day. Unless otherwise indicated, the limits are as follows:
50 km/h in urban centers
90 km/h outside built-up areas, in winter
110 km/h outside built-up areas, on the estate.
For those who had obtained the license for less than 2 years, the limit outside built-up areas will always be 90 km/h.
DRIVE IN ESTONIA WITH CHILDREN
