Every period is good for spending a holiday in Italy.
The statement is anything but risky. In fact, Italy can boast an incredible historical, artistic, cultural and natural heritage, as well as a great gastronomic and folk tradition. Whatever the reason that drives you to travel, know that there is no best time when to go to Italy. It all depends on your idea of vacation.
The classic summer months of June, July and August are ideal for discovering fantastic seaside destinations. In winter, however, the snow at high altitude is the happiness of skiers. Of events, however, you will be spoiled for choice, throughout the year. The Palio di Siena, or that of Asti. The Gigli di Nola and the Faradda in Sardinia. Great summer concerts. The beautiful, evocative Christmas markets that find, in Northern Italy, or in the wonderful Naples, the maximum expression. And, of course, the Carnival.
Naturally, the climate is one of the fundamental factors in choosing the period to go to Italy.
High air humidity is a feature common to almost all Italian regions. The climate varies according to the area. The areas along the coast have a mild climate, with pleasant temperatures and not too harsh winters.
The area of the Po Valley, on the other hand, has a typically continental climate, while in the Alps and at high altitudes, the winter is rather harsh.
Through our κ index, we provide an evaluation for every single month. In this way, you can evaluate the best time when to go to Italy, depending on the type of holiday

July, in our opinion, is the best month. Ideal temperatures for spending your holidays between sea, beach and sun. In the early morning, or late in the afternoon, you can dedicate yourself to visit the sights, monuments and attractions of the places. Compared to August, prices are lower and, above all, you will find less chaos.
To visit the cities, spring is ideal. You will not suffer too much heat and you will be able to turn safely in the city.
For those wishing to visit Florence, Milan, Venice and the major Italian cities, August is not recommended, due to excessive heat and the high humidity with temperatures perceived above the average. In August, better to opt for the sea.
