Bestival, from 02 to 05 August 2018 in Lulworth. Info, tickets, program

BESTIVAL

WHERE: Isle of Wight, England
WHEN: 02 – 05 August 2018

Fifteenth anniversary for one of the most popular festivals in the United Kingdom: the Bestival, a spectacular event established in 2004. The 2018 edition promises to be full of changes, with a new location and a whole new period. After setting the tents on the picturesque Isle of Wight, the festival moves to Lulworth Castle, home of the younger Camp Bestival. A new setting, between green spaces and undulating hills, which make the site perfect for the various activities.

The Festival, in fact, has become a real phenomenon, distinguishing itself above all by its unconventional character. Compared to the first edition, the Bestival saw quintuple the number of spectators. So much so as to have an ever greater following.

At the same time, the festival has always boasted a first-rate line-up. Suffice it to say that for the 2016 edition, the likes of The Cure, Major Lazer, Wiz Khalifa, Sea Paul and Fatboy Slim have been invited, just to name a few. The organizers’ commitment is always to choose eclectic artists. In perfect harmony with the spirit of the Bestival. An event in which art and creativity are the common denominator. In addition to music that embraces the most diverse genres, there will be ample space for comedy, theater and even circus theater.

The Festival has been awarded, over the years, with numerous awards. For four years (2005, 2006, 2007, 2009), it was recognized as the best medium-sized festival! In 2010, 2012 and 2015, he won the Best Major Festival award. In 2011 it was recognized as a Fans Favorite Festival. And again, he received the nomination for the Green Festival Award, for social and environmental commitment.

At the Bestival, you can spend four fantastic days between musical and creative surprises, and extraordinary performances. We dance, drink and have fun. There is also a fantastic masked day with incredible costumes. Mountains of food and lots of fun.

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

Coming from European destinations, the best solution is to use one of the many airports in the capital as a base. In fact, London is connected with direct flights, with many European and non-European destinations. Its airports are among the busiest in Europe.

From the British capital, you can choose to reach Lulworth by train, bus, or, more conveniently, by renting a car. The distance to be covered is about 200 kilometers.

Southampton International Airport is a good option if you can find the flight at the right price. The airport is rather small and the direct connections are fairly limited. In contrast, the distance to be covered is just 80 kilometers.

With the South Western Railway trains you can reach Wool Station, from the main British destinations. Right from Wool Train Station, direct shuttles depart to Lulworth Castle. In this case, you can buy the shuttle ticket directly on board. From London Waterloo Station, the train takes about 150 minutes to reach Wool; tickets, non-refundable, start at £ 19.90, booking in advance. From Southampton, however, it takes about 75 minutes.
