HOW TO GET TO WARSAW

PLANE

The Polish city has two airports. In fact, it is possible to reach Warsaw from the main European destinations.

Fryderyk Chopin is the city’s main airport, base of the LOT Polish Airlines, Polish flag company. It is located at 13 km south from the city center. It has two terminals. The airport is served by the main airlines: Austrian, British, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and others.

AIRPORT-CENTER CONNECTIONS

You have to travel a little more than 10 kilometers to get to the city center. The airport is well connected to the city thanks to numerous buses and three lines on iron. Tickets can be purchased at the Passenger Service Center, located in the airport arrivals hall; alternatively, through the numerous vending machines or directly from the bus driver.

The trains S2 ed S3 of the Urban Rapid Rail (SKM) e RL (KM) connect Warsaw Chopin Airport with the center. The S2 and RL lines also reach Modlin, the city’s second airport. To reach the stations, at the airport, just follow the signs LINIA KOLEI MIEJSKIEJ (urban rail).

Five bus lines instead, allow you to comfortably reach the center. These are the buses 175, 188, 148, 331, and finally the N32 night line.

The SINGLE TRANSFER TICKETS allows you to make unlimited trips to the 1 and 2 areas. It costs 7,00PLN (about 1,70€), and lasts 90 minutes from first use. For those who plan to use public transport, there are excellent and convenient solutions.
In addition to the ticket for the whole day, we highly recommend the BILET WEEKENDOWY GRUPOWY if you have organized your holiday for the weekend. It’s really convenient for two people already!

Modlin is the second airport of the Capital, located in the city of Modlin, About 40 km northwest of Warsaw. It was officially opened in 2012, becoming, in fact, the basis for RyanAir. By bus, you can easily reach the center of Warsaw and other destinations in Poland.

From both airports, a viable alternative to consider is rent a car. Our advice is to opt for the car in case you want to leave to discover the areas near Warsaw.

Central Warsaw is the main train station, served by medium and long-distance trains. It was the first railway station built in the city. Several daily connections with Germany, the Czech Republic and some states of the former Soviet Union. From here, the EUROCITY trains leave for Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder). Then there are other 5 medium-sized railway stations that connect the suburbs of the city.

CAR

The Polish capital is about 600 kilometers from Berlin. From Prague, in the Czech Republic, you have to travel over 600 kilometers, many of them on a motorway stretch. From Vienna, passing through Bern, it is about 340 kilometers. We report the presence of numerous speed cameras on most of the motorway section; therefore, you are invited to respect speed limits.

The distances from Italy, France and, above all, Spain, are really too many. We invite you to consider the car option only in the case of a tour that includes several stages.
