Tel Aviv Airport. Info, how to arrive, city center connections: bus, taxi, train

Tel Aviv Ben Gurion

Ben Gurion Tel Aviv Airport is Israel’s most important airport, as well as the busiest, with 23 million passengers passing through in 2018 alone.
It is located about 20 kilometers from Tel Aviv, and just over 40 kilometers from Jerusalem.

The airport is included among the 5 best airports in the whole Middle East. The reason is mainly due to the high safety standards, and the number of passengers who pass through each year.
It has 4 terminals. Currently, the T3 is the main one, from which most of the international flights pass. Modern and efficient, it has all the comforts and services. You will find numerous shopping areas, duty-free, food and beverage outlets, electronics stores, toys. Wifi Line is available practically throughout the building.
T1, once the main terminal, is mainly used for domestic flights and some low cost airlines.

The checks can often take quite a long time. Much depends on the country of origin which may require a little more elaborate procedures, with questions and questionnaires.

TEL AVIV AIRPORT CONNECTIONS

At the main terminal T3, you will find a special office to receive information on public transport and the integrated fare system. In our opinion, taxis remain the recommended solution for getting around Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport and getting to the center. Of public transport, the train is certainly the best solution.

TAXI

Taxi is, without a doubt, the most comfortable, practical and fastest way to travel from Tel Aviv Airport. Taxis were parked outside the main terminal. Some are located on the ground floor of the Gate 03 exit, and on level 2 of the Gate 21 exit.
Always remember to use only official taxis, with a clearly identifiable sign and license. It is advisable to check the rate in advance. The taxi drivers speak understandable English.

The taxi is particularly suitable, for 3 or more people, thanks to the prices that are not too exaggerated. To reach the center of Tel Aviv, for example, in 4 adults with 2 suitcases, the price is around 150NIS (around 36€). For Jerusalem, the price for the same number is 280NIS; less than 70€, for 4, is a more than acceptable amount to get to Jerusalem.

BUS SHUTTLE

A FREE transfer service between T1 and T3 is available at the airport. From T3, the Shuttle Bus departs from Level G, Long-Term Car Park shuttle. From T1, you can take the bus from the opposite side of Gare 4.

TRAIN

The train station is located on the lower level of Terminal T3, easily accessible, even by people with reduced mobility, thanks to the special lifts.

The train connects Tel Aviv airport daily with numerous areas in the center. The ordinary fare ticket costs 13.50NIS (approximately 3.40€).
By train, you can move to give birth from 05:00 in the morning, until 23:30. The frequencies vary from a minimum of 30′ to a maximum of 60′ in the evening. The ride to the center takes about 20 minutes.

BUS

The parking is located on level 2 of Terminal T3. The service is guaranteed by various transport companies.

Egged, offers the connection with Line 5 between Airport City, El Al Junction and the international airport.
Metropolime, connects Tel Aviv Airport with Be’er Sheva.
Kavim offers connections with Shoham and Modi’in.
