From that moment, from a niche event, the Nowa Muzyka Festival has taken on its current form. Four days of music and entertainment. Photo, 2009 Umkatowice PRACTICAL INFO HOW TO GET By plane and train you can easily reach your destination. The international airport of Katowice Pyrzowice is connected with several European cities. Low Cost companies operate mainly. A bus connects the airport with the city center quite frequently. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. The ticket can be purchased directly on board the vehicle, at a cost of 20PLN (about 5 euros). Alternatively, you can land at Krakow airport, located less than 70 km from the center of Katowice. The latter can be easily reached by bus, in about an hour. The Central Railway Station of Katowice, on the other hand, is well connected with various Polish and European cities. From here, numerous medium and long-distance trains depart, mainly managed by Polskie Koleje Państwowe. For those arriving by car, a large FREE parking area is available. Upon entry, you will be asked for a valid identification document. The gates open on Friday at 18:00 and Saturday at 17:00. There are different types of tickets, varying exclusively based on duration. Tickets are sold in different phases, at increasing prices. By purchasing them in advance, you can ensure the best price. Werchter is only 40 km from Brussels; therefore, the most comfortable method is certainly the airplane. From Brussels International Airport, on level -1, direct trains to Leuven leave every hour; once you reach the city, the DE LIJN Bus Shuttle takes you in less than 15 minutes to Werchter. There are two different lines of this Shuttle: Line A takes you to the Haacht stop; the B line is instead destined to those who were directed to the A1 campsite, or to the B and C areas. From Charleroi Airport, the connection with Werchter is more complicated. At the Terminal take Bus Line A which leads to the Charleroi Sud railway station; from here, a first train goes to the Brussels-Nord station, and, subsequently, a second train leads to Leuven, where you will find the Shuttle DE LIJN. Amsterdam is just 200 kilometers away, while Paris is around 350 kilometers. From Bern, you travel about 650 kilometers, passing through France and Luxembourg. Berlin is about 750 kilometers away; from Milan, on the other hand, it takes just under 900 km to reach the destination, crossing the Gotthard Tunnel and entering Swiss territory. You must exit at Rotselaar and, therefore, you reach Werchter. Near the Festival there are about 15 parking areas, distributed in three large areas A, B, and C. It is not possible to move within the zones, therefore, once you enter one of these you will not be able to park in another ; furthermore, for security reasons, access to vehicles in Campsite areas is prohibited.
