Stockholm Arlanda International Airport is the capital’s main airport, as well as the busiest in Sweden. It is one of the three hubs of the Scandinavian Airlines System. The airport is located about 40 km north of Stockholm and has four terminals, 2 of which (Terminal 2 and 5) are intended for international flights.
The immense structure obviously hosts numerous areas dedicated to shopping. There are duty free and all essential services.
For those traveling with children, there are numerous areas dedicated to them. Three large play areas are located inside the T5, past the security gates. Special areas for changing babies are located near the bathrooms and are all well marked by a special sign.
Inside, there are also numerous ATMs for withdrawing cash, a post office, and luggage storage with a personal key. The wifi line covers the entire building. Just connect to the “Airport_Guest” network to surf for free for the first 3 hours. Those who need more time will have to pay the rate of €1 per hour by registering their credit card.

Airport Express is the efficient train, recommended by us, which allows you to reach the center in just 20 minutes. The train connects Stockholm Arlanda Airport (under each Terminal there is the platform) with the Central Station of the capital.
The full ticket costs 299 SEK (579 round trip) for adults, 165 SEK for children between 18 and 25 and over 65. Free up to 18 years of age, when accompanied by a paying adult.
If you are traveling as a couple, with friends or family, there is a special promotion: two people pay 379SEK (instead of 598), three 479 (companies 897), four people 579 SEK!
You can buy tickets at the airport, station or directly online on the official website, from which you can find information on precise timetables.
In addition, around 70 long-distance trains depart from Arlanda to major Swedish cities such as Uppsala, Södertälje, Gävle, Hudiksvall, Sundsvall, Östersund, Åre, Borlänge, Falun, Leksand, Mora, Nyköping, Norrköping, or Linköping.
You can also opt for the Commuter Train, a train that connects the airport, Uppsala and Stockholm.
Flygbussarna Airport Coaches, are three ecological bus lines. Find a stop at each Stockholm Arlanda Airport Terminal.
The line connecting the center of Stockholm leaves every 10 minutes; another line instead connects Liljeholmen passing through the Karolinska Hospital, Fridhemsplan and Hornstull; finally, another line connects Arlanda with the small Bromma airport (used exclusively for domestic flights) via Kista and Sundbyberg.
The ticket costs 99SEK for adults if purchased online on the official website, otherwise you will pay 119SEK and it is the same regardless of the route. Groups tickets are also available at a discounted price (3 adults pay 299 SEK instead). This is the official website of the company that manages the service.
