Getting around Segovia by public transport, bus, car. Tickets

Getting around Segovia

For the splendid historic center, a World Heritage Site, you can easily travel on foot.
Otherwise, you can opt for the comfortable buses, ideal for getting around Segovia and reaching the main points of interest.
By public transport you can reach the high-speed railway station, Nueva Segovia, or Zamarramala.

CAR

Driving in the center and in the immediately adjacent areas is not recommended at all. Rather.
Aqueduct, Alcazar, Cathedral and Mirador are within 2 km, and can be reached by a pleasant stroll through the historic sites of the city.
If you arrive in the city by car, better park in the suburbs, or at your hotel.

GETTING AROUND SEGOVIA BY BUS

Getting around Segovia by public transport is easy and convenient. The buses connect, in a capillary way, the center, the suburbs and the main points of interest of the city.
Avanza Grupo manages urban transport with 12 daytime lines, active every day, including Sundays and holidays.
The lines are identified by increasing numbers from 1 to 12, and as many different colors.
Times vary depending on the line. Generally, on weekdays, buses operate between 07:00 and 22:30, with a frequency of 15 minutes. Saturday and Sunday, many lines are in service after 08:00, until 22:45, with a frequency of about 30 minutes.

Friday, Saturday and public holidays, there is a night bus service (Line B) from Carretera de Soria 1 to Paseo del Salón.
The bus operates, on the indicated days, from 23:00 to 06.50, with departures every hour.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT TICKETS

The ticket valid for a single journey costs €1.00 per person. Available in the Ordinary or Holiday version, depending on the day of use, it allows you to make a trip by bus within an hour of validation.
It is valid on all bus lines.
Keep in mind, however, that the ticket does not allow you to leave, or arrive, at the AVE train station. Only in this case, in fact, you will have to purchase the appropriate BILLET AVE at a cost of €2.00 per person.

To those who traveled frequently, however, it might be convenient to purchase the special Tarjeta Abono Transportes. This is a card that you can top up with €5, or multiple, traveling at a discounted price. An AVE bono, for example, costs €0.70 instead of €2.
The card costs €2; the amount will be deducted on first use.
Each time you travel, you will need to place the card on the card reader on the bus.

You can top up your card directly online, through the official Avanza Segovia website.
