The historic center of Putignano is rather small and concentrated, ideal for exploring on foot.
The car is a completely useless means of getting around Putignano, considering the size of the village.

If you arrive by car, you will hardly have difficulty finding parking. In the city you can park your car for free on the white lines (where present).
One of the best areas is in Via Giacomo Matteotti 5, in the large square where the Wednesday market takes place.
Close to the center and with numerous parking spaces. And it’s also FREE. Keep in mind that every Wednesday, from 07:00 to 14:00, the local market takes place and the car cannot be parked. So remember not to leave it on Tuesday night, under penalty of removal and payment of a heavy fine.
Other parking areas are available near the cemetery (parking recommended during Carnival), Viale Cristoforo Colombo and the FSE station.
SITA Sud is the company that manages public transport in Putignano. It is one of the largest companies in the South, operating throughout Puglia, Basilicata and Campania.
Urban service is limited to just a couple of lines, running on weekdays from 07:00 in the morning until late afternoon.
The terminus is the FSE Central Station, located in Via Vincenzo Petrucci, just over a kilometer from the centre.
From the station it is possible to move to Putignano on foot and reach Piazza Plebiscito in less than 15 minutes.
The ticket to travel by bus costs €1. It can be purchased on board the vehicle or, alternatively, on the cotrap website.
