Poiana Brasov, the most famous ski village in Romania. How to get

Poiana Brasov

Transylvania offers magical emotions… even at high altitudes. Without necessarily going too far.

Just 10 kilometers from beautiful Brasov, you can spend a fantastic holiday in the most important ski destination in all of Romania: Poiana Brasov.

A place to be admired not only in winter, when it is mainly besieged by tourists who love to practice snow sports, but also during the other seasons. Perfectly organized and equipped, it is a ski village that will certainly be appreciated.

2013 consecrated it at a European level with the organization of the European Winter Youth Olympic Festival, hosted right in the Romanian resort.

HOW TO GET TO POIANA BRASOV

Brasov is the best base for reaching the destination, as it is located just 10 kilometers away.
The city is also really beautiful: it is almost a must to spend at least one day there if you want to go to Poiana Brasov.

In winter it is preferable to use public transport only because on the mountain roads, except for the most touristic stretch, you will find snow and conditions that are not optimal.

By plane, Bucharest is an excellent base. The international airport offers direct connections to numerous European capitals and destinations.
From the capital it is preferable to reach Brasov and, subsequently, Poiana Brasov.

BUS 20

RATB is an excellent public transport company offering connections throughout Brasov and neighboring destinations.
Line 20 connects Livada Postei and Poiana every day, from 06:00 to 23:30, with departures every 20 and 30 minutes. On Saturday and Sunday the first bus leaves at 06:30.
The bus stops at Bellevue Residence, Warte, Facultativa, Facultativa II and Poiana Mica.
The ticket costs 6.00lei for a one-way trip.
