Convenience and savings in a single card, and the opportunity to visit the most popular attractions for children and travel unlimited on public transport.
If you are on a family holiday in Barcelona, the BCN CARD FAMILY is the best way to visit the city. The card offers free access and lots of discounts for the main attractions in the city: Aquarium, Zoo, Tibidabo, Portaventura…
At the time of purchase, you will receive a cardboard case containing two separate cards: one to be used for transport (Hola Card) and another to access the attractions (Card Family).
The Hola Card must be validated every time you use public transport, including buses. By metro, the Hola Card allows you to go through the access turnstiles.
The Card for museums and attractions does not allow access without queuing. You will have to present it at the cashier of each single attraction and you will receive the access ticket.
The Barcelona Card Family offers FREE access to all of the following attractions:
The Card also offers a 20% discount on the ticket for Portaventura, Marineland, Catalunya en miniature.
Includes unlimited access on public transport for 72, 96 or 120 hours: metro and city buses (except night buses) of Transportes Metropolitanos de Barcelona-TMB, city lines of Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat de Catalunya-FGC, tram, metro and train to Barcelona airport and Renfe Cercanías trains in zone 1.
ATTENTION: does not include the AEROBUS. Anyone wishing to use the fast means of connection to / from the airport must purchase the appropriate ticket.
The Card is available for adults and children (aged 4 to 12) in 3 different versions. Here are the prices updated to 2022:
Each Card is activated at the time of the first validation for a residual duration equal to the denomination purchased.
THE CARD OFFERS ACCESS TO EVERY SINGLE ATTRACTION ONLY ONCE.
Hola Card with unlimited transport for 3 days costs €23.80 per person (ages 4 and up). Tickets to visit the Aquarium, Zoo and Wax Museum cost a total of €60. Already like this, we are around 85 €: the savings are quite evident.
The card can be purchased directly online, on the official website, through this link.
After the purchase, you will receive instructions for collection at one of the following points of sale:
The card is activated at the time of validation and not at the time of purchase.
The Card is especially designed for families and is aimed precisely at them.
Some shortcomings (Sagrada Familia, Casa Battlo, Pedrera, Park Guell) are quite evident and for this reason, if this were your first time in Barcelona, carefully consider your purchase.
For my second time in Barcelona, as well as the first with children, I decided to buy it together with access to Park Guell. The little ones were enthusiastic about what they visited in 4 days and we can only positively evaluate the experience.
The Card includes the most expensive transfers to / from El Prat airport. Precisely for this reason it is preferable to buy it directly at the international airport, as soon as you land. The information office for collection is present in both terminals.
Park Guell is one of the must-see attractions. Especially for children. The absence of the park is a serious shortcoming.
Another sore point is the non-immediate access to museums and attractions. You will have to present it at the ticket office (and eventually queue) to obtain the entrance ticket to the facility. It would have been preferable to equip it with a chip for direct access without queuing at the cashier.
