TripAdvisor®, the popular restaurant, hotel and tourist review site, in fact, announced the results of its “Best Time to Book 2017” search.
What emerges from the research is that the best period for booking holidays 2017 varies according to the chosen destination. Hotels, on the other hand, maintain rather stable prices, with very minimal upward and downward trends.
It is, therefore, the destination country that has the greatest impact. Hotel rates in 9 different geographical areas were analyzed to establish the periods that offer the most affordable prices for a stay during the summer months. The best time to book 2017 holidays was obtained by checking the time when hotel prices are stably lower than the destination average.

EUROPE: it is advisable to book hotels for the summer season from 5 to 9 months before departure. However, European hotel rates do not vary significantly over the 10 months preceding summer trips, with a minimal percentage decrease (the average hotel rate per night in Europe in the summer is € 126)
UNITED STATES: best book the hotel within 3 months of departure. Travelers looking for hotels in the United States for the summer can find the cheapest rates (-9%) by booking within 3 months of departure (average hotel rates per night in the United States in the summer is € 154)
ASIA: hotels offer cheaper rates by booking within 3 months of travel. Travelers visiting Asia this summer can save 14% by booking within 3 months of departure (average hotel rates per night in Asia in summer is € 137)
CARIBBEAN: best to book within 4 months. Travelers planning a summer vacation to the Caribbean can save 6% compared to the most expensive period by booking 4 months before departure (the average rate per night of hotels in the Caribbean in summer is € 172)
CENTRAL AMERICA: the best rates are obtained 3 months before the trip. The rate of hotels in Central America does not change much during the summer, but by booking within 3 months of departure travelers can save 6% (the average rate per night of hotels in Central America in the summer is € 95)
SOUTH AMERICA: cheaper prices if booked 3 months in advance. Booking the hotel in South America for the summer holidays with 3 months in advance you can save 15%, compared to the most expensive period (the average rate per night of hotels in South America in the summer is € 108).
MIDDLE EAST: best to book within 2 months of departure. Travelers who have chosen the Middle East as a destination for their summer holidays can save 19% by booking the hotel within 2 months of departure (the average rate per night of hotels in the Middle East in the summer is € 167)
AFRICA: Within 4 months of departure, this is the best time to book hotels in Africa. You can save 8% on the cost of the hotel for travel to Africa by booking within 4 months of departure (the average hotel price per night in Africa in the summer is € 165)
SOUTH PACIFIC: Hotels cost less if booked 2 months in advance. Travelers planning a summer vacation in the South Pacific can save 11% by booking 2 months in advance (the average price per night of hotels in the South Pacific in summer is € 141).
