Menorca Airport, also known as Mahon Menorca Airport, is an international airport that serves the island of the same name in the Balearic Islands. The airport is located approximately 5 kilometers southwest of the capital.
Like Ibiza Airport, its passenger traffic is almost entirely limited to the high season, during which it is literally stormed by tourists. In 2020 alone, in fact, it recorded over 3 million passengers!
The airport has a single terminal. Inside you will find bars, restaurants, shopping areas, including 2 duty-free shops and a pharmacy. The wifi line is available for free throughout the structure. Just connect to “Airport Free Wifi Aena” and register with your email to surf without limits throughout the airport!

Taxi, public transport and car: once you arrive at the airport you will have no difficulty in reaching any area of the island. Here are the connections from Mahon Menorca Airport to the rest of the island.
For those who want to use public transport, there is only one bus line (no. 10), outside the Mahon airport terminal. The bus stop is easily accessible and well signposted inside the airport.
Bus number 10 connects the airport with the island’s capital every 30 minutes. The bus runs every day, from Monday to Sunday, with the following timetables:
A one-way bus ticket costs €2.80 per person.
Once you reach the capital, several city buses leave from the main bus station to reach other areas of the island of Menorca.
Outside the arrivals terminal you will find the taxi rank. You can take advantage of clear and transparent rates, published on the official airport website aena.es. This way you will know in advance the amount to pay (although it is always a good idea to check before getting on the vehicle). For a ride to Explanada, Plaza Espanya or Residencia the price is around €16, while for Ciutadella the cost is around €60. The price may increase during holidays and at night and if you are carrying bulky luggage.
Right at the airport, there are many national and international agencies, with which you will be spoiled for choice. Our advice, however, is to move in advance and book directly online. In this way you can make a comparison between the various companies, obtaining the best price.
Instead of aiming for the big names, we recommend Menorca GO!, a very serious local rental agency with an excellent quality-price ratio, based on the experience of friends.
