Not just a simple market, but a real attraction in the heart of Barcelona.
A market with ancient origins, just a few steps from the Rambla and, therefore, particularly crowded.
To make this market unmissable, it is not just the position. In the huge indoor building, an impressive series of stalls are set up, with very fresh and high quality products.
It is the Catalan proposal to be the master. And then, under with a good dose of “Jamon”. The excellent Serrano. The cones with Pata Negra ham cubes. The delicious snacks of fresh fruit. And what about a good slice of meat, cooked at the moment? Or, some good fresh fish?
At Boqueria Saint Josep you will find everything, and more. Also international proposals. Because, over time, foreign exhibitors have also increased.
Whatever your request, be sure that you will find it in this immense market. At least that’s what they say around here.
During a visit to Barcelona, there is no weekend, or vacation, that takes place, without having made a stop in this impressive market. An incredible place, colorful, fragrant and, of course, chaotic. As every market knows how to be.
Loved by the Catalans. Venerated by tourists. Today, it is a real institution.
The Boqueria Saint Josep, is located in the center, at La Rambla 91 in Barcelona.
You can get there easily on foot, crossing the Rambla de Saint Josep, one of the main arteries in Barcelona that connects Plaça de Catalunya with the Port.
The market is located almost halfway, about a kilometer north of the Port. After the Mirador de Colom, you will find it on your left. On the contrary, from Plaça de Catalunya, you will find it on your right after about 10 minutes of walking.
Thanks to the central location, you can reach the place quite easily by public transport. Liceu is the nearest metro stop, just a few minutes’ walk away. Here, there is also the parking of buses 59, N9, N12 and V13.
The market is open from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 20:00.
Closed on Sundays and holidays.
The market is particularly crowded, starting from the early morning. As always, we invite you to use a minimum of attention so as not to incur unpleasant incidents; it is still a market. Closed bags, wallets always in sight.
The Boqueria Saint Josep is also ideal for a simple walk, or out of curiosity. We recommend stopping for lunch or an aperitif. You can buy products on site, and have them cook at the moment.
