The Bolzano Market in Piazza delle Erbe is one of the obligatory stops during a visit to the city.
A historic market that has its roots in the distant 13th century. Even today, more than 700 years later, the inhabitants come here to shop.
A beautiful, colorful and relaxing place. In addition to taking the opportunity to savor some delights, you will be able to admire the square and the beautiful Fountain of Neptune (included among the 100 most beautiful fountains in Italy). And of course the splendid arcades.
Quiet and at the same time lively, thanks to the presence of the many tourists who flock to an area. In addition to the many stalls, there are numerous bars and clubs housed in the buildings of the Piazza.
The main Bolzano market takes place in Piazza delle Erbe, in the center, a short distance from Piazza Walther and the Duomo.
It can be reached easily on foot.
By public transport (bus lines 1, 3, 5, 7A, 8, 10A, 14, 15) get off at the Piazza Università stop, a few minutes away.
The permanent market in Bolzano is open all year round, from Monday to Saturday, from 08:00 to 19:00.
Always closed on Sundays and public holidays
Fresh fruit and vegetables are the main products of the market stalls. You can buy first fruits, sweets and traditional products.
The legendary sausage sandwiches are among the most popular products, ideal for a quick meal.
There is no shortage of small items and souvenirs.
The proposals change, of course, during the Advent period, with many handicrafts and Christmas souvenirs.
