Tramvia Blau. Info. Timetable, prices, barcelona tram route

Tramvia Blau

Anyone looking for a fascinating and somewhat suggestive way to get around Barcelona will certainly find the right solution in the Tramvia Blau. This is the blue Tram, dated 1901 which, over the years, has managed to maintain its original appearance. Furthermore, the tram almost entirely follows the ancient route that winds from the Avinguda Tibidabo stop of Line 7 of the FGC metro.

To date, it is one of the last examples of the ancient Spanish tram system, together with the Tranvía de Sóller, on the island of Majorca.

The tram leads to the Tibidabo Funicular stops which allow you to reach the top of the mountain of the same name. Thanks to the Tramvia Blau, you can cross places of absolute charm. From CosmoCaixa (Museu de la Ciència), to the Parc d’atraccions del Tibidabo. And, again, the Temple del Sagrat Cor, the Torre de comunicacions de Collserola and the Observatori Fabra.

The Tramvia Blau is used almost exclusively by tourists. Not infrequently, however, Catalan families advance on the line to reach the park with the Tibidabo funicular. A massive renovation has been underway since 2018 and, to date, the line is still standing.

TRAMVIA BLAU TICKETS

To use the Tram, you need to purchase a special ticket costing €5.50. Although the management belongs to the TMB which manages public transport in Barcelona, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE INTEGRATED TARIFF SYSTEM. Therefore, it will not be possible to use the Hola Card to access, but a separate ticket must be purchased.

The special BITLETT SENZILL for the tram can be purchased directly on board the vehicle.
