Tramvia Blau

Anyone looking for a fascinating and rather suggestive way to get around Barcelona will certainly find it Tramvia Blau the right solution. This is the Blue Tram, dated 1901 which, over the years, has managed to maintain its original appearance. The tram, moreover, almost entirely traces the ancient route that winds from the stop avinguda Tibidabo of the 7 Line of the FGC metro.

To date, it is one of the last examples of the ancient Spanish tram system, along with the Tranvía de Sóller, on the island of Majorca.

The tram takes you to the Tibidabo Funicular stop which allows you to reach the top of the homonymous mountain. Thanks to the Tramvia Blau, you can cross places of absolute charm. From CosmoCaixa (Museu de la Ciència), to the Parc d’atraccions del Tibidabo. And, again, the Temple of the Sagrat Cor, the tower de comunicacions de Collserola and the Observatori Fabra.

Today, the Tramvia Blau is used almost exclusively by tourists. Not infrequently, however, the Catalan families on inostrano on the line to reach the park with the Tibidabo funicular.

The tram observes the following times:

From January 2 to 24 March: Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 18:00.
From 25 March to 7 April: Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 19:30.
From 08 April to 17 April: every day from 10:00 to 19:30
From 18 April to 23 June: Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 19:30.
From 24 June to 11 September: every day from 10:00 to 19:30.
From September 12 to 27 October: Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 19:30.
From 28 October to 31 December: Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 18:15.


To use the Tram, you must purchase a special ticket for the cost of 5,50€. Despite the management belongs to the TMB that manages public transport in Barcelona. The special BITLETT SENZILL for the tram, can be purchased directly on board the vehicle.
