Dresden Funicular Railways. Standseilbahn e Schwebebahn. Info tickets

Dresden Funicular Railways

The Standseilbahn Funicular and the Schwebebahn Suspension Railway are two Dresden funicular railways. They are operated by Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (DVB), a German transport company operating in and around Dresden.
To date, these two means of transport are considered a real attraction, attracting numerous visitors.

The Standseilbahn, connects Loschwitz with Weißer Hirsch, and is known for being one of the most beautiful funiculars in all of Germany. Its strong point is its unique location, on the picturesque slopes of the Elbe in Loschwitz. It is one of the centuries-old vehicles of the city, inaugurated in 1895, and subsequently converted to electric operation in 1909. Today it works without a driver

Schwebebahn, on the other hand, is a particular suspended railway without a driver, which operates between Körnerplatz and Oberloschwitz. It is the oldest of its kind, particularly loved for its incomparable view over the enchanting Elbe valley.
