Kastrup is the international airport that serves the city of Copenhagen and the south of Sweden. It is located on the island of Amager, just 8 kilometers from the Danish capital, and just over 24 kilometers from Malmö. It is one of the busiest airports in all of Northern Europe, with around 30 million passengers in the 2016 alone
Opened in the 1925, it is one of the oldest airports in Europe. Hub of the Scandinavian Airlines company, currently has 2 Terminal: T2 and T3. COPENAGHEN KASTRUP CONNECTIONS
METRO
The best way to reach the center of Copenhagen is the subway. This is a highly efficient service, with which to get downtown in just 15 minutes. The stop is at the airport’s T3 terminal. Keep in mind that all the Terminals are connected to each other by a free shuttle service.
The M2 line has a frequency of 4/6 minutes during the day, and 12/15 minutes in the evening. You need to buy a single-ride ticket for 3 ZONE, at the cost of 36DKK (just under 5€).Tickets can be purchased at vending machines with coins or credit card, or with the official DOT TICKETS APP (available for iOS and Android). The ticket is valid for 90 minutes after validation.
BUS
Buses are quite frequent and allow you to quickly reach the city center. All P15 and P17 terminals and parking areas are connected via the Bus Terminal. This is a free shuttle that observes the following times:
04.30 – 07.00 and 18.00 – 23.30: every 15 minutes; 07.00 – 18.00: every 10 minutes; 23.30 – 04.30: every 20 minutes.
The 35 and 36 lines operate for Copenhagen during the day, while the 5A bus operates at night.
35 Line: Airport Kastrup – DR Byen St. (The airport, International – The airport East – AP Møllers Alle – Dragør stationsplads – Store Magleby – Tømmerup – Amagerhallen – Sundbyvester Plads – Irlandsvej – Dr Byen S).
36 Line: Kastrup Airport – Nøragersmindevej (The airport, International – Korsvejens Skole – Tårnby st. – Nøragersmindevej).
5A Line: Airport Kastrup – Husum Torv (The airport, International – Skottegårdsskolen – Sundbyvester Plads- Amagerbro St.- Central Station – Rådhuspladsen – Nørreport st. – Nørrebro st. – Bellahøj – Husum Torv).
COPENAGHEN KASTRUP CONNECTIONS – DENMARK / SWEDEN
TRAIN
Daily regional and Intercity trains leave from the airport to the main Danish destinations and southern Sweden. The train station is located below the T3 Terminal, easily reachable following the appropriate directions.
DSB, a Danish railway company, manages national rail traffic. He ran every ten minutes to Copenhagen and every 20′ to Helsingør. Øresundståg DSB guarantees regional and Intercity connections to Swedish destinations: Malmö, Göteborg, Kalmar, Karlskrona, and Kristianstad.
For Malmö the journey takes just over 25 minutes. Tickets can be purchased directly at the airport.
From the airport train station, the intercity trains of the Swedish company SJ depart. The train takes just 20 minutes to get to Malmö; the ticket costs 111FR and can also be purchased online, on the official website of the company. From Malmö, if you want, you can reach Göteborg in about 3 hours of travel.
