WHERE: Venice, Italy
WHEN: from 31 August to 10 September 2022
The Venice Film Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the year. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world, after the Academy Awards, namely the Oscar. The first edition took place back in 1932.
The purpose of the exhibition is to spread the art of cinema in all its forms, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.
The Venice film exhibition is, as usual, part of the Venice Biennale, as part of an annual event that combines art, architecture, dance, music and theater.
The Golden Lion is the most important prize of the festival and, from the point of view of film critics, is considered more important than the Oscars themselves. The animal was chosen as a symbol of the city. Like, after all, the Bear is the symbol of the Berlin festival.
For many, the Venice Film Festival is the best opportunity to see the stars of the big screen up close. And, of course, for cinephiles, it represents an opportunity for a healthy feast of films. At the turn of the months of August and September, the city becomes a great film set. It is difficult not to get carried away by the atmosphere that reigns in the Lido and throughout the Lagoon.
The more daring, will be able to challenge the heat and the crowds, waiting for their idols to parade on the red carpet. Each year, the Film Festival offers a rich program of films and events. There will also be interesting exhibitions, screenings, activities and workshops.
There will be six sections that make up the official selection of the event. Official selection, will propose the 21 feature films, in world premiere, which will compete for the victory.
Godmother of the 79th edition of the Show will be the Spanish actress and presenter Rocio Munoz Morales, who will present the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival. Paul Shrader, director and screenwriter, will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.

Venice is undoubtedly one of the most visited cities with the greatest tourist turnout, especially in conjunction with events like this. In this period, it is very difficult to find accommodation, both on the Lido and in the center. Prices also rise incredibly by booking a few days before the event.
The advice is to move well in advance. Not to be underestimated is Mestre, an excellent alternative to the more expensive Venice. From here, you can see the list of the best properties at a special price, not far from Venice
