Cutting-edge music and lots of fun. Sun, sea and a very long beach in beautiful Montenegro. Here is the recipe for one of the most interesting summer festivals in the European scene, the Southern Soul Festival.
Very few years of life and yet, in the 2015, The Guardian, has shown him as one of the best 10 European festivals … you’ve never heard of! And indeed, it is an event that deserves the right emphasis. An event that has all the right ingredients. Southern Soul Festival can be considered as a sort of holiday vacation. The perfect combination of music and the sea.
The festival takes place every year, from the 2013, in the beautiful setting of Velika Plaža ad Ulcinj, in Montenegro. Here, there is the long beach of Copacabana, where there are three stages in which you can unleash the rhythm of hip and underground and different styles of music; obviously, there is no lack of soul, jazz, and funk; nor, techno, and dance. Some of the most advanced producers, DJs and artists take part in the lineup.

HOW TO GET
Podgorica Airport is the nearest international airport, just a little more than 70 kilometers from Ulcinj. It is served by numerous airlines that, especially in high season, make direct connections to the main European destinations.
From the airport, renting a car, you will arrive at your destination in a short time. Alternatively, you can book on the official website airport transfer; generally, the cost should be around € 20,00 per person for one way.
There is also a suggestive method by sea to get to Montenegro, starting from Italy. In 8 hours, starting from Bari, Italy, Bar is reached in Montenegro. From the latter, by bus, you arrive at Ulcinj.
SOUTHERN SOUL FESTIVAL LINEUP AND TICKETS
The live lineup of the Southern Soul Festival 2019 includes: EABS, Airto Moreira & Group with Flora Plurim, Josh Milan & Band, Nubyan Twist, Nu Guinea Full Line Band, The Mauskivoc Dance Band and many others. And, of course, a large and substantial list of DJs ready to make you dance, and let loose!
The ticket valid for all 4 days of the festival costs 109.00 €, including taxes and administrative fees, in the very first limited edition SUPER EARLY BIRD TICKETS. For the uninitiated, a limited amount of tickets at special prices are offered for sale each year in advance. Obviously, you will have to slice it to get the advantageous price.
WHERE TO SLEEP
Prices for sleeping are really low, compared to the rest of Europe. Less than 100 €, you can stay 4 nights as a couple in a structure not far from the beach. We recommend the Blue Star Apartments for the quality / price ratio and the proximity to the Copacabana beach. You can choose between cheap double rooms, apartments with shared kitchen or private.
