As usual, this spring Madrid also dresses up to celebrate its Patron Saint. And it does it in the best way.

In May, for 5 days, there will be throughout the city, the celebrations for Isidore The Farmer, the patron saint, to whom miraculous events were attributed. Many, related to water.

San Isidro Festival, in Madrid, is an event of great appeal, thanks to an extremely varied and vast program. Over 200 concerts, and FREE cultural activities for the most diverse audiences.

Masked parades with giants, dances, classical music concerts, rock marathons, yoga activities, ceramics fairs and, much more, await you at the San Isidro Festival. Location, as always, will be Pradera de San Isidro, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa and Las Vistillas.

Moreover, for the 2024 edition there will be various initiatives for the whole city: Puerta del Ángel, the Temple de Debod, El Retiro, the Rosaleda of the Parque del Oeste…

That’s not enough, the Feria dedicated to the Saint offers a month of bullfights in the Monumental Arena of Las Ventas, one of the most important in the world, as well as the place where every bullfighter dreams of being able to triumph!

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

The plane is the best solution to reach the Spanish capital. The international airport of Madrid-Barajas it is well connected, with direct flights, to the main European and extra-European cities and destinations.

The center can easily be reached by public transport, taxi and car. Info, and tickets from our Madrid official page. All the activities of the San Isidro Festival take place in central areas and are easily accessible by public transport.

SAN ISIDRO FESTIVAL 2024 PROGRAM

There are over 100 events scheduled during the 5 celebration days. Below are some of the events of the Festa di San Isidro not to be missed

MUSIC AND BURNS

One of the most beautiful and spectacular events of the Festa di San Isidro. At the beautiful El Retiro Park, lights, music and sounds will be at one with the surrounding environment.

May 14th and 15th, starting from 20:30, a fantastic piece of music in which lights and sounds will mingle with the music. At 22:30, fireworks show. Really magical!

GIGANTES Y CABEZUDOS

Extraordinary and colorful event, loved by adults and above all by children. An incredible parade, among sparkling costumes and bright colors. Protagonists will be the giants and figures of huge heads. Insured show.

The parade takes place along Santo Domingo Plaza, Plaza de Callao, Calle Preciados, Puerta del Sol, Calle Mayor and Plaza de la Villa.

FERIA DE SAN ISIDRO

Known simply as San Isidro, it is one of the most important bullfighting fairs in Spain. From 10 May to 09 June 2024, the world’s best bullfighting stars gather in the Las Ventas bullring, ready to offer extraordinary performances.
