Rock Am Ring

From 1985, the year of its debut, to today, Rock am Ring is an unmissable event for all lovers of rock and metal music. On the legendary Nürburgring car track, near the town of Adenau, in the Eifel, this event takes place which gathers hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world.

A feature, probably unique, is the simultaneous organization with a sort of sister festival: Rock Im Park. Same dates and same artists. To change, in Rock Im Park, is only the location: the splendid Nuremberg! Often, the two events are considered a single event.

Every year, on the extraordinary stage of Rock Am Ring, the best bands of the world rock scene perform. From here, great names of international music such as U2, Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden have passed.

Unforgettable, the performance of Metallica, on 03 June 2006, with Hetfield & Co. who played all the songs of “Master Of puppets”, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary. An absolutely unmissable show!

In 1989 and 1990, the festival was not organized due to the well-known German political vicissitudes following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Today, the festival is one of the most important, and followed, in Germany and Europe.

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

The best way to get to Nürburgring, home of the Rock Am Ring, is by plane. Frankfurt-Hahn and Cologne-Bonn are the two closest airports. Cologne/Bonn Airport, is just under 100km by car, while Frankfurt airport, about 160 km. From both airports it is possible to rent a car to reach the destination.

For those wishing to use only the means of transport, here are the options to follow:

• From Bonn airport, BS60 bus to Bonn Hbf railway station, then train towards Ahrbrück and, from here, another bus (812) will take you to your destination. It takes about 4 or more hours (depending on connections) to arrive.
• From Frankfurt airport, you must first reach Bonn by train and then continue by other means to the Nürburgring.

As per tradition, the bands on the bill are of the utmost importance. Also for the 2023 edition. The lineup is truly varied, and includes big names from the hard rock scene. Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and Die Toten Hosen will be headliners for the three evenings of the festival. Here, in detail, all the protagonists of the festival:
