On the shores of Lake Zurich, the Christkindlimärt welcomes many visitors every year during the Adventsdörfli period.
The suggestive position, the lights, the colors and the scents of Christmas make the city magical. A place with a fairytale atmosphere, thanks to the setting of the enchanting old town and Rapperswil castle.

CHRISTMAS IN RAPPERSWILL 2025: THE MARKETS
The markets take place over 12 days, from Thursday to Sunday (closed Monday to Wednesday). The highlight of Christmas in Rapperwil is the large Christkindlimärt (Christkind Market) from Thursday, December 11th to Sunday, December 14th, 2025. Over 200 stalls await you, spread across the lake, Marktgasse, and Haupplatz.
The Christkindlimärt will take place from December 4th to 21st, 2025, with the following official hours:
- Every Thursday, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Every Friday, from 2:00 PM to 9:30 PM
- Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
- Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Throughout the season, markets will be set up along Fischmarktplatz and the harbor. Smaller but equally evocative, they are open from 2pm to approximately 8pm.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES 2025
Christmas in Rappersill is one of the greatest in Switzerland. During the Great Christkindlimärt, you can buy handicrafts and handmade products. Christmas decorations and gifts. And, of course, lots of gastronomic products: excellent honey, raclette fondue, crepes, waffles.
To warm up, nothing better than excellent hot chocolate. Or, alternatively, mulled wine and apple punch.
Guaranteed entertainment for the whole family with shows and exhibitions in the historic center. For the little ones, there will be lots of activities, fairytale readings and rides.
