This year too Berlin is ready to amaze with extraordinary special effects, transforming itself into a real enchanted city. The most beautiful places, museums, monuments, squares and attractions will be visible in a different light, thanks to the Berlin Festival of Lights. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year, now in its 21th edition. An exhibition that, never like this year, promises to be of great impact, under the motto “Let’s Shine Together“.
The 21th anniversary edition will feature spectacular light and video art displays in around 50 locations, designed to touch the hearts of visitors and bring moments of joy.
The best international artists will be present, with extraordinary 3D effects and magnificent installations. An event that combines tradition and innovation, with a careful and vigilant look also at the social aspect. About two million (!) Visitors will be expected at this event. An event that, in terms of effects and installations, is one of the most interesting in the world panorama, with Lyon, Moscow and Sydney.
During the ten days of the Berlin Festival of Lights, the city is transformed into a huge open-air stage. You can admire the greatest artists of the illuminations; listen to them as they tell stories, draw attention to detail, and present their cultures, arts, crafts and messages. The historical places of Berlin, the streets, squares, and all the most fashionable and interesting districts, will be set up with extraordinary light installations. In addition, the strong civic commitment and social responsibility on the part of the organizers, with important charity projects, should be noted.
The capital can be easily reached from the main German and European destinations. The new Brandenburg airport, which serves the city, is among the busiest in the country. Berlin HBF, on the other hand, is the reference point for German rail transport.
You can easily get around by metro, bus and on foot, and attend the main installations of the Festival. Public transport is really fast, efficient and connects every area of the center.
Every day, from 19:00 to 23:00, it will be possible to attend the light shows. There are really a lot of installations between the center and the periphery. Some of them, however, are only available for certain dates of the event.
As usual, meet at Alexanderplatz on October 8th for the official inauguration of the 2025 event. Marienkirche, the suggestive Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, the Oberbaum Bridge are some of the places not to be missed.
This year, the installations will focus on the concept of unity, connection, community. Through diversity, you can admire all the beauty of this wonderful city.
