Elche. How to arrive by plane, train, car. Distances, connections

Elche

The city of … mysteries.

The beautiful town of the Autonomous Valencian community, is inextricably linked to one of the most important cultural and religious events in the area: Mystery Play. An extraordinary lyric drama of medieval origin, UNESCO World Heritage.

There are many, however, reasons that should push visitors to get here.
Starting, first of all, from another World Heritage Site, El Palmeral. A marvelous Palm Grove, in which more than 500000 plant specimens are kept.

And, again, churches, monuments, squares, buildings and thematic routes. Whether you want to spend an entire weekend, or make a stopover from Alicante or Valencia, we are sure you will not be disappointed.

HOW TO GET TO ELCHE

PLANE

The best way to get there is by plane, landing at the Alicante-Elche international airport. The airport is connected, with direct flights, with many European capitals and destinations.

From the airport you can easily reach the center of Elche by bus. Outside the Terminal you will find the station where the 1A and 1B lines depart.
The 1A line connects the airport and the center of Elche, passing through the main points of interest including the Business Park. The 1B line, serves between Torrellano and Elche, in one direction, and for Arenales del Sol, on the coast, in the other direction.
They work every day, from Monday to Friday from 05:55 to 20:55 with frequencies of one hour; Saturday, Sunday and holidays, every two hours, from 05:55 to 19:55. The ticket can be purchased on board and costs 1.50€.

Alternatively, you could land at Murcia-San Javier International Airport. The airport, located about 75 kilometers from Elche, is connected to some European destinations, including Edinburgh, Frankfurt, London, Manchester, Oslo and Prague. From here, by hiring a car, you reach the destination, crossing the AP7 Mediterranean Autopista.
