Port-adhair Dhùn Èideann is the Gaelic name that distinguishes the Edinburgh airport, international airport located in Ingliston, just 9 km from the city. It is the most important airport in Scotland as well as the sixth busiest airport in the whole of the United Kingdom. The owner of the complex is the British Global Infrastructure Partners, a majority company at London-Gatwick Airport.
Edinburgh Airport has two runways, and a single, large terminal. Inside, numerous services, shopping areas, duty-free, are available to travelers. There are, of course, plenty of dining options, bars, restaurants, fast-food restaurants to suit all needs, and pockets. The wi-fi line is available almost anywhere.

EDINBURGH AIRPORT – CENTER CONNECTIONS
The airport is connected in an excellent and efficient way with Edinburgh. Upon exiting the terminal, you will really be spoiled for choice.
AIRLINK AND BUS
Airlink 100 is an express service that takes you to Waverley Bridge in just under half an hour on modern and comfortable buses. The bus operates 24/7, with departures every 10 minutes from 3:40 AM to midnight. Tickets cost £8.50 per adult and £4.25 for children aged 4 to 15. A family ticket costs £22 for two adults and up to three children. Tickets can be purchased on board by credit card or via the official app.
Buses 17 and 18 run every 30 minutes between Edinburgh Airport and Ocean Terminal and Fort Kinneard, respectively.
The bus station is located outside the airport and is easily accessible by following the signs inside the terminal.
TRAM
The tram is another excellent option for reaching the center of the Scottish capital (St. Andrew‘s and Princess Street) and Newhaven. The tram runs daily from 6:26 AM (first service from the airport) to 10:48 PM (last service from the airport).
One-way tickets cost £7.50 per adult and £3.50 per child, and return tickets cost £9.25 per adult and £4.80 per child.
EDINBURGH AIRPORT – SCOTLAND CONNECTIONS
CITYLINK AIR
At the bus station, the convenient CITYLINK AIR is active. It is an efficient bus that allows you to reach GLASGOW in just one hour. The buses are extremely comfortable and modern. The service is active 7 days a week, with a frequency of around 30 minutes.
Tickets cost 16.80£ one way, and 28.20£ return per adult. You can buy it on board and online, directly on the official website, at this link. Children aged 5 to 15 pay 11.80£ one way and 19.90£ round trip.
TRAIN
Edinburgh Central Railway Station is located within the airport perimeter. It can be reached from the airport via the tram. ScottRail connects the city with numerous destinations, including Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, and Glasgow itself.
The train takes approximately three hours to reach Aberdeen. The price of the ticket varies according to the period of the reservation. Ultra advantageous rates are available on the official website, with extremely limited availability. They are all non-refundable offers but they allow you to obtain savings of up to 70%! You have to book at least 2/3 weeks in advance to get them.
Distances are by no means prohibitive across the UK. The journey to Manchester, for example, takes just under 4 hours with tickets at a special price, under £30! For London, it takes about 5 hours.
