WHERE: Amiens, France
WHEN: from 22nd November to 29th December 2024
While not boasting a century-old tradition, the Christmas markets in Amiens have become a point of reference throughout the country.
Together with “holy monsters” such as Colmar, Montbeliard, Reims and Strasbourg.
Sparkling lights and colors. Scent of ginger and biscuits. And lots of entertainment for adults and, above all, for children. This awaits you at the Amiens markets, starting from the last weekend of November.
Two kilometers of displays in the streets of the center in what is to all intents and purposes the largest Christmas market in Northern France.
Not to be missed, in front of the Hotel de Ville, the splendid giant tree which, with its 13 meters in height, dominates the square.
Splendid plays of light, on the other hand, illuminate the Cathedral, as per tradition.

The markets are set up along Place René Goblet and Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, for a total of 130 stalls, all with typical Christmas decorations.
You can wander around in search of the perfect Christmas gift, or you can enjoy gastronomic specialties of the region.
On Saturday 23rd November, at the Hotel de Ville, Christmas in Amiens 2024 officially opens. Appointment at 5.45 pm sharp for the switching on of the lights.
The stalls open from November 22nd to December 29th 2024, from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. On Mondays they open at 2 pm. Closed on December 25th
Gastronomy is the great protagonist of the Christmas markets in Amiens.
The Macarons of Amiens are the pride of the city, with a tradition that dates back to the 19th century. These are small circular macaroons made with almond paste, fruit and honey. Really delicious.
You can buy the best Moulage en Chocolate, all rigorously decorated by hand. Or, taste the Pâté en Croûte de Canard d’Amiens, another delicacy of the Region.
Place Gambetta is the place par excellence of Christmas for children. In addition to the paths specially created for the little ones, the Santa Claus House is one of the most anticipated events. Here the little guests can have fun coloring pages, writing, and participating in workshops in the company of elves. Without forgetting the inevitable letter to be sent to dear Santa Claus.
The House of Place Gambetta is open from November 22nd to December 24th 2024.
