CONNECTION OF BARCELONA EL PRAT – CITY
From the airport, there are several solutions that allow you to reach, more or less quickly, the city center.
From February 2016 is active the 9 line of the subway which connects the airport with Zona Universitària (terminus). In our opinion, it is the best way to reach Barcelona. The 9 Line of the metro passes through both airport terminals. In T1, it is located on the ground floor inside the airport; in the T2, it is located externally, just outside the Terminal, near the train station. The 9 line makes the following stops: University Area, Collblanc, Torrassa, Can Tries / Gornal, Europe / Fira, Fira, Parc Logístic, Mercabarna, Les Moreres, El Prat Estació, Cèntric, Parc Nou, Mas Blau, Aeroport T2 and Aeroport T1. A Torrassa connects with the 1 Line. Collblanc, 2 line and Zona Universitaire is connected to the 3 line.
The metro is active from 05: 00 in the morning until late in the evening. You have to buy a BITLLET SENZILL AEROPORT that allows you to make a one-way trip on the subway. The ticket costs 4.60€; it can be purchased at the airport and at stations, in special machines or at affiliated dealers.
Thanks to Línies Diurnes and Nitbus, you can reach the center of Barcelona in an economical way, at all hours of the day. The service is managed by TMB (Transports Metropolitan de Barcelona), through several lines. With a simple BITLLET SENZILL from 2.20€ you can reach the city. The Línies Diurnes, are in operation every day from morning until late evening. Here is the complete list:
- Línia 46 [Barcelona (Pl. Espanya) – Aeroport]. Go to: BARCELONA; HOSPITALET DE LLOBREGAT; EL PRAT DE LLOBREGAT; AIRPORT.
- Línia L77 [Sant Joan Despí (Av. Barcelona) -Aeroport]. Switch to: SANT JOAN DESPÍ; CORNELLÀ DE LLOBREGAT; SANT BOI DE LLOBREGAT; EL PRAT DE LLOBREGAT; AIRPORT.
- Línia L99 [Castelldefels (Santiago Rusiñol) – El Prat de Llob. (Aeroport Terminal T1)]. Switch to: CASTELLDEFELS; GAVÀ; VILADECANS; SANT BOI DE LLOBREGAT; EL PRAT DE LLOBREGAT; AIRPORT.
- Línia PR1 [El Prat de Llobregat – T1 Airport Terminal – T2-C Airport Terminal]. Go to: EL PRAT DE LLOBREGAT; AIRPORT.
Nitbus, is the rubber line, active at night, which connects Barcelona airport El Prat and Placa Catalunya. The buses N16 ed N17 they follow the same route, passing through L’HOSPITALET DE LLOBREGAT and EL PRAT DE LLOBREGAT. The N16 line starts from the 2 Terminal; the N17 line, from the T1 Terminal.
The express line, called AÈROBUS, starts from both Terminals. These are modern and fast buses that in about 30 minutes allow you to get to the center. More expensive, of course, of the bus. The price is €5.90 one way and 10.20€ one way. The Aerobus leaves every day of the year and the service starts at 5:00 and ends at 1:05. The stop is easy to find, outside each terminal. There is a ramp to get on the wheelchair-bound buses and places reserved for the disabled. From the 2015 the various buses provide free Wifi network. More information available on the official website of the company.
In our opinion, however, the metro remains the preferred solution.
Outside the 2 Terminal at Barcelona El Prat Airport, there is the train station for trains to Sants and Passeig de Gràcia. A free shuttle connects the two airport terminals quite frequently.
The train is an excellent solution especially if you want to reach other Catalan cities. Thanks to the RENFE trains you can get to El Prat de Llobregat, Granollers, Sant Celoni, Maçanet-Massanes and others. More information on the official website, from this link.
According to the current regulations related to the Covid-19 pandemic, we remind you to always respect the interpersonal distance and to wear the appropriate protective tools for the nose and mouth.
The entry on the aircraft, currently, is staggered. The number of seats on board is limited in relation to the capacity.
Also on the vehicles, remember to keep your distance and wear protective tools.
