HOW TO GET TO ABU DHABI

PLANE

Except in exceptional cases, you can reach the Arab city only by plane. The international airport that serves Abu Dhabi is about 30 kilometers away. Equipped with 3 terminal, it serves over 60 countries and 120 destinations worldwide. A modern and efficient airport, which has all the amenities. Inside you will find numerous dining options, shopping areas, duty-free.

Mostly by taxi, or by A1 bus, you can reach the city center. The A1 Bus, serves all three Terminals, and stops in the city center, near Abu Dhabi Mall. The service works H24 with departures every 30 minutes depending on the time band; travel time is 45 minutes / 1 now. It should be noted that despite this type of transport is a bit ‘snubbed, in our opinion is quite efficient and economical.

You can choose between metered taxis and fixed rate limousines; the signs to reach them are clear. Metered taxis are less expensive than limousines. To go to the Corniche or the Tourist Club Area, the price is about 70 / 80 AED.
The limousines have a fixed tariff depending on the destination, at the terminal 1 or 3 the fares are displayed on the sides of the sidewalk.

ADVICE FOR WOMEN

Even if it is liberal, try to dress in a traditional way; especially out of the city, where a more conservative attitude prevails. Do not wear tight-fitting or low-cut clothes and always sit in the back seat in taxis. In banks, in Etisalat offices (the national telephone company), in post offices and in libraries there are usually separate areas or branches for women, ideal when there is a queue.

In small Arab and Indo-Pakistani restaurants you will often be accompanied in the ‘family room’. You will not be obliged to sit here, but the room will offer you a shelter from the looks of men.

IF YOU WANT TO GO ON THE BEACH, bear in mind that women are allowed the classic Bikini, while it is absolutely forbidden, however, for topless and tanga.

For men, on the other hand, it is better to avoid wearing panty suits; a classic beach boxer can go just fine.
