In organizing a trip, the climate is one of the first elements to be taken into consideration. Here are some valuable information on the weather and the best time when going to Poland.

The country, in general, is characterized by a predominantly continental climate with cold winters and cool and pleasant summers. Temperatures, however, show differences moving from north to south and, in particular, between the coast and the hinterland.

Everywhere, winter is basically cold, with temperatures slightly below zero, from the end of November to the beginning of March. In the South, on the other hand, in high-altitude areas, winters are freezing and often snowy. Sometimes, the frigid winds from Russia drop the mercury column below the 20 degrees!
The gray sky is a common feature of all of Poland during this period.

Spring becomes pleasant only starting from April, while autumn is mild and still sunny near the summer.

When to go to Poland

In the summer, the best time to go to Poland to visit the country, the days and temperatures get longer. Especially in July and August. The days are not muggy and the maximum temperatures are around 20 degrees from Warsaw down. At high altitude, they drop slightly. Attention to the thermal excursion which, in the evening, leads to a drop in temperatures. The climate, in the evening, is rather cool and requires appropriate clothing; pack at least one jacket or sweatshirt. And do not forget even an umbrella, or raincoat: the afternoon thunderstorms are frequent.
Difficult to swim, even in August: the temperatures of the Baltic hardly exceed the 19 degrees.

July, and August, are the best months when going to Poland, and visiting Warsaw and other beautiful cities. December, however, is the Top Month for lovers of high altitude and Christmas markets. Krakow, for example, offers its most romantic and evocative side in this month.

WORST MONTH TO GO TO POLAND

Autumn and spring are not the best when going to Poland. The worst month is probably October. The pleasant temperatures of the summer, have given way to the first colds. This month, among other things, is rather lacking, as regards events and festivals.
