The company Société des Autobus Bastiais manages the public road transport service in the city, through 11 bus lines, and three special lines.
The buses connect the entire city, including the port, in a capillary manner. Eleven bus lines, distinguished by a number and a different color, excellent for getting around Bastia; they are in service from early morning to 20:00 (times vary depending on the bus). The three special itineraries are added to the ordinary lines: the 11 line, first of all. It is about Ligne de Soirée, active exclusively on Friday and Saturday from 20:45 to midnight, from Hôpital a Mairie Bastia.

Then there are the two yellow lines: the N.9 (TAD) and N.12 (PMR). It is really very interesting services. TAD is a line of Transport A la Demande; It is active on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Mandriale a Mairie Bastia, only by telephone booking for TAD cardholders
The 12 PMR line (Personnes a Mobilité Reduite), on the other hand, is exclusively intended for those who have a certified disability of at least 80% and for blind people; active from Monday to Friday from 08 to 12 and from 13:30 to 18, and Saturday from 09 to 12:30 and from 14:30 to 18.
TICKETS
You need to buy a TICKET UNITÉ to travel on road vehicles. The ticket allows you to make bus journeys within one hour of validation and costs 1,30€. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver.
For those wishing to make more trips, the CARNET from 10 tickets is preferable at the cost of 7,00; in this case the ticket would cost half! The carnet can be purchased at points of sale and at branches SAB. present in the city. Only for PMR and TAD buses, only a return ticket from 3,00€ is available: for these buses you need to buy a card from 20,00€.

GETTING AROUND BASTIA BY RAILWAY

Chemins de Fer de la Corse, is the railway line that connects Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi, Casamozza, Mezzana and Ile Rousse.
The Périurbaine de Bastia consists of two sections: the Bastia-Biguglia line and the Biguglia-Casamozza line with tickets from 2 to 4€
In the image, the railway line in operation is red; the blue line indicates, instead, the old line of the eastern coast, definitively abandoned in the years 50 following the heavy destruction of the second world war.
